technorati revisited
I went online to check for blogs about Villa Julie, where my son attends. Amazingly enough I found a bunch of blogs that were created to fulfill a requirement for a "writing for the web" language arts class. Most of them were strangely similar---"this is my first post for my class...." or "I have to do this blog, so here it goes...". Just the same thing that many HCPL bloggers used on their first post. It must be the universal virgin post!
Library thing
I thought this was just too cool. I immediately began to enter my favorite authors and created a list of "read" and "want to read". It is great to have this in one place, since my other attempts to keep a reading journal have always been put aside and are not very useful. I will be using this! I also sent the link to my son, who in less then 24 hrs had over 100 books listed, many of which were the overflow from his my space and facebook pages.
Technorati
The website got a face lift in July, which was interesting. Since I did the blog session during the Technology Fair I had seen alot on Technorati. I liked the changes. Before it seemed a bit overwhelming with so many links, photos, videos, etc . Now it was a much cleaner look. I liked the way the blogs updates while you are looking, and the "what's popping now" portion gives a view of recent hot topics. Also, I liked how the blogs are categorized to make it easier to find what you a re interested in. This is a keeper.
rollyo
The following several blogs were done weeks ago when I was an "Edgewood Refugee" and had to work in Joppa because our branch was closed due to excessive heat. Since then my duties at work have overshadowed this assignment. Now that I am down to the wire I must proceed.
Rollyo--this searchroll tool was not very impressive for me. I did a quick quotes search for "may the force be with you" and got no relevent hits. Instead I got Star Wars toys, Life force Vitamins and an encyclopdia. Then I tried to search photos of "Zac Efron" and got ringtones, blogresults and a link for yahoo. Doubt I will use this again.

bloglines
oops, I forgot that I also set up a bloglines account
I choose many different feeds----pets, news, food, but most importantly is the Official Star Wars Blog. Now I won't miss a post. The Force is with me!

meez
you can tell that this has been my favorite thing so far
I need a slogan though, something like, "saving rt. 40 from non-SRP participation"
